Rates in the Atlantic continued to drop rapidly, with the transatlantic round voyage trip rate declining by more than 50% w-o-w to reach $7,500/day. The decreases were attributed to a lack of enquiry from Brazil and an increasing volume of tonnage available in or ballasting towards the Atlantic basin. While rates in the Pacific were generally better supported, overall average Capesize trip earnings fell by 38% w-o-w.
